A Hot Malasada is a Portuguese pastry. A lot of our Hawaiian food has Portuguese influence. These pastries are a fried dough on the outside, until golden brown. Still, they are moist and fluffy on the inside. Usually they are rolled in cinnamon and sugar or just sugar. Hubby brought some Hot Malasadas filled with coconut and chocolate. GG thinks they taste heavenly!!
