Aloha Friday #3

Fridays are the days we take it easy in Hawaii. We call it Aloha Friday, much like what folks on the mainland call TGIF. I post a question, and y'all comment. That's it, unless you want to ask your own question at An Island Life.

My question is: What fruit do you find most difficult to cut?
Tomorrow I am doing a pineapple cutting demonstration post!

Watermelon. It's so big & bulky, I'm always afraid the knife is going to slip & I'm going to cut myself.

Oh, what an interesting question! :)

I have to think about it... Pineapple. Maybe since I live in Nebraska, I haven't had the chance to perfect my pineapple-cutting skills. I've only tried it once. It was delish, but I'm not in a hurry to try it again. Too difficult and messy.

Definitely a watermelon. I am not comfortable doing it, especially with the monster knife required. I am much more into fruit that requires no real cutting, like cherries, strawberries, peaches, grapes, nectarines and the like.

Have a great weekend!

I'd have to say pineapple. I always balk at cutting the thing, but I wish I'd eat the fresh stuff more often. I love pineapple!

Happy Aloha Friday!

Pineapple can be kind of a pain, I think I'd agree with that.

I'm going with pineapple too. But--are coconuts considered fruit??? If so, then they would be the hardest.

I know this is bad...but we usually get precut fruit! So I really wouldn't know which fruit is difficult to cut...

Hey I just looked it up and coconut is most definitely a fruit therefore I will go with Coconut! Now I haven't exactly cut one up myself before mind you, but I have seen guys in Brazil with macheties hacking into them like nobodies business. It doesn't look like an easy task, but if you've had a real stressful day - what a way to work out all that frustration ;)!

I've always had issues with mangos because they're so slippery. No problems with Pineapples b/c I have Rosa the masterful pineapple cutter who makes the most perfect rings

I used to think it is the mango, but I have learned new way to eat my mango, a bit difficult for me to describe in words though.

I just saw on Momma Blogs A Lot that you're planning to do a pineapple cutting demo. Can't wait! :)

I have a friend who can peel an apple with a knife and the peel comes off in one long windy piece. My kids think it is pretty cool! I CAN NOT do it! Bah.

lol I never thought about it before. I would think a apple.. takes forever.. lol Perhaps and orange takes a while to peal.. Watermelons are monstrous lol Great Question!

Thanks for visiting my blog today as well! :)

Mangoes!

I've never attempted to cut a pineapple by myself. I find it tedious cutting it and removing the "eyes".

I was going to say mangoes, but then read the other comments and saw coconut. Yep! Coconuts are definitely the biggest pain in the booty!

btw, THANK YOU for visiting my blog!

You know, I am going on Sunday JUST TO SEE YOU. I am going to work like a mad woman to clean this house today for our open house!!

Mangos!!! Those suckers are a lot of work for not a lot of fruit...what is up with that weird core thing? Can you do a demo on that?

The Farmer Files said...

By special request I will have Big S demonstrate on Friday when he gets home how to use the core thingy. ;)

We mostly just buy apples and bananas. They are pretty easy to prepare for consumption. Are avocados considered fruit? If so, that's the answer.

The Farmer Files said...

Avocado IS a fruit. ;)
